An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Support Accountant to join Shropshire Council in Shrewsbury. What you will do:
- Provide specialist financial support in developing the DSG management plan.
- Ensure financial models are robust, accurate, and data-driven.
- Conduct scenario planning and financial modelling to support the Medium Term Financial Plan (MTFP).
- Work collaboratively with the Education team, Children's Services Finance Business Partner, and DSG Funding Coordinator.
- Continue providing financial support to Education teams following submission of the plan in June.
- Contribute to strategic financial planning and reporting processes.
Requirements:
- Qualified Accountant status (CIPFA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent).
- Strong financial modelling and scenario planning experience.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Experience within local government or public sector finance is advantageous.
