About the role: There is an exciting opportunity within the Health Services Laboratories for SRA Manager, at the Whittington Hospital Essential Services Laboratory (ESL). The post holder will manage a team of staff in the department with responsibility for providing a comprehensive, high‑quality service to all service users at the Whittington Hospital. The post holder will take the lead in Governance issues of the department and will be the lead for all SRA staff within the management remit of the post. Interested candidates must be working at a deputy/supervisor role level in SRA and have extensive knowledge and demonstrable experience of working as a supervisor/deputy in SRA. In addition, a management qualification or relevant management experience is desirable. The Whittington Hospital provides hospital and community care services to 500,000 people living in Islington and Haringey as well as other London boroughs including Barnet, Enfield, Camden and Hackney. The ESL has on‑site laboratories for Biochemistry, Haematology, Blood Transfusion and Andrology, along with some rapid microbiology/virology testing. You will need to be self‑motivated, innovative, flexible, reliable, have good interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills. In addition, you will need to have the ability to use your own initiative and take responsibility for one’s own work and those of others less qualified.
