About the role: The Cellular Pathology laboratory at 60 Whitfield Street is a consolidated service involving several hospitals. Our new, purpose designed laboratory opened in January 2020, with entirely new equipment, and houses one of the largest Cellular Pathology services in Europe. HSL Cellular Pathology is a UKAS Accredited Medical Laboratory.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Biomedical Scientist who will have an impact on all parts of our service, being actively involved in the quality management system (QMS) throughout our diagnostic cytology service. The normal hours of work are 37.5 hours per week; the normal opening hours of the laboratory are 9.00 to 17.30, Monday to Friday.
You will need to be self‑motivated, flexible, and reliable and have good interpersonal skills as well as having the ability to use your own initiative and take responsibility for one's own work. The Laboratory depends heavily on I.T. and the person should be willing to learn new computer skills where necessary.
This position will suit ambitious individuals, who want to make an immediate impact and contribution on helping the team implement and develop our vision for the laboratory service we provide.
