About the role: An opportunity exists for a full time, permanent Medical Laboratory Assistant wishing to work within the Haematology and Blood Transfusion sections at 60 Whitfield Street on shifts which will be split 80:20 nights/days. Up to 80% of this role will be assigned to cover night shifts - typically 3 night shifts per week and any night shifts worked will attract additional payments via enhancement claims. The laboratory is responsible for servicing the Haematology pathology needs of UCLH which is the largest Cancer referral centre in Western Europe.
The Blood Transfusion department is a Blood Establishment, where blood compatibility testing and blood provision is provided to various patient cohorts such as Sickle Cell patients who are on regular exchange programs, patients requiring top up transfusions from Cancer Centre daycare consisting mainly of Haematology, oncology and Thalassaemia Major.
