Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home
Location: Worthing, West Sussex
Salary: Up to £56,000 per year + bonus

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Manager to lead a 'Good' rated 5-bed children’s residential home in the Worthing area, supporting children and young people aged 8–18 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD). Our client is looking for an experienced, passionate and resilient Registered Manager who can provide strong leadership, develop a high-performing team and ensure children receive consistently high standards of care. This is an excellent opportunity for an established manager who is looking to make a genuine difference to the lives of children and young people while taking responsibility for the successful day-to-day running and continued development of an established residential children's home.
Key Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and operation of the children's home
- Provide strong, visible and supportive leadership to the staff team
- Recruit, develop, motivate and retain a committed team
- Establish a clear vision, shared goals and consistently high expectations
- Ensure care is delivered in line with the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
- Maintain the home's registration with Ofsted
- Lead on auditing, budget management and effective monitoring of the home
- Complete Regulation 45 reports and other required monitoring and reporting
- Promote and maintain the highest standards of safeguarding
- Ensure children’s wishes, feelings, rights and individual needs are heard, respected and reflected in their care
- Promote equality, inclusion and a genuinely child-centred approach
- Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families, professionals and other stakeholders
- Create a positive working environment where good practice is recognised, developed and encouraged
- Provide guidance, supervision and support to staff, helping them to achieve their potential
- Respond confidently and appropriately to challenging or demanding situations
- Participate in the on-call rota on a pro-rata basis
About You
- At least 2 years' management experience within a children's residential setting
- A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted requirements, Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
- Previous experience of achieving a Good or Outstanding Ofsted inspection outcome
- Proven experience of leading, developing and motivating a staff team
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
- The confidence and resilience to manage challenging situations calmly and effectively
- A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A professional, honest and values-driven approach
- The ability to demonstrate integrity, professionalism and good character
