The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting an experienced Registered Children's Home Manager to lead a 3-bed residential children's home supporting young people aged 8–17 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and motivated manager looking to take the next step in their career or bring their existing management experience to a new service. You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring young people receive high-quality, safe and supportive care while creating an environment where they can thrive and achieve positive outcomes. With a £7,500 welcome bonus and a salary of up to £60,000, this is an attractive opportunity for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and operation of the children's home.
  • Lead, motivate and develop a dedicated team of residential childcare staff.
  • Ensure the home provides a safe, nurturing and supportive environment for young people.
  • Maintain high standards of care in line with Ofsted regulations and safeguarding requirements.
  • Oversee care planning, risk assessments and individual support plans.
  • Build positive relationships with young people, families, social workers and other professionals.
  • Support staff through regular supervision, training and professional development.
  • Monitor the quality of care and drive continuous improvement across the service.

About You

To be considered for this position, you will ideally have:

  • Experience working within a children's residential care setting.
  • Previous management experience as a Registered Manager or a strong Deputy Manager ready to take the next step.
  • Experience supporting children and young people with EBD or complex needs.
  • A good understanding of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding and children's residential care standards.
  • Relevant residential childcare qualifications, or be currently working towards them.
  • A willingness to work towards the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, if not already achieved.
  • Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • A genuine passion for improving outcomes for children and young people.
