Senior Registered Veterinary Nurse opportunity – Lead, Inspire, Deliver Exceptional Care - Cambridge - Up to £33,000 per annum

We are currently seeking a Senior RVN to join our independently run small animal practice. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a fulfilling leadership role while remaining hands-on in clinical work, supporting a busy team and delivering high standards of care across a varied caseload.
The Role
As a Senior RVN, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day running of the nursing team, helping to lead by example and mentor less experienced team members, while continuing to be actively involved in all aspects of veterinary nursing. From surgical support and inpatient care to training and clinical coordination, you will be encouraged to use your full skillset in a forward-thinking, supportive environment.
The position is offered on a 4-day week basis, with 10-hour shifts, a paid lunch break, and a fixed day off wherever possible. Shifts generally run from 8am–6pm or 9am–7pm. There may be occasional work at a nearby sister site to provide holiday or sickness cover, but your primary base will remain consistent.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
- Leading and supporting the nursing team in clinical duties and daily operations
- Overseeing anaesthesia, surgical assistance, and inpatient care
- Running and developing nurse-led clinics and preventative healthcare services
- Mentoring student and junior nurses, contributing to their development
- Supporting rota planning and helping maintain clinical standards
- Contributing to the ongoing improvement of practice protocols and workflows
This role offers the chance to step into a leadership position without being removed from the clinical front line. You’ll work alongside a dedicated team that values collaboration, autonomy, and continuous development.
