OFSTED Registered Children’s Home Manager

Salary: Up to £62,000 + bonus

About the Role
We are working alongside a well-established provider who is seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead a trauma-informed children’s home supporting young people with complex Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This is an important leadership position, responsible for the day-to-day management of the home, the quality of care provided to young people, and the development and leadership of the care team. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of residential childcare and safeguarding and will be confident in maintaining high standards of care, compliance and practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for the effective day-to-day management of the children's home.
- Lead, motivate and support a dedicated care team to provide high-quality care.
- Create a positive, nurturing and professional environment for both young people and staff.
- Provide effective leadership, direction and support to the team.
- Conduct and contribute to staff supervisions, appraisals, team meetings and ongoing professional development.
- Support the recruitment, induction and development of staff within the home.
- Promote a strong safeguarding culture and ensure that the welfare of young people remains central to all decision-making.
About You
- At least 2 years' experience as a Registered Manager in children's residential care.
- Experience working within a children's home that has achieved at least a 'GOOD' OFSTED rating.
- NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare, or currently working towards this qualification.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
- Good knowledge of children's safeguarding and child protection.
- Strong understanding of relevant childcare legislation, regulations and OFSTED standards.
- Experience of managing and developing a residential childcare team.
- Experience of care planning, safeguarding, incident management and risk management.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Ability to lead calmly and effectively in challenging situations.
- Strong communication, organisational and leadership skills.
- A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people.
- Full UK driving licence.
