A well-established nursing and residential care home in Market Drayton is seeking an experienced Senior Healthcare Assistant (Nights) to join its dedicated care team. This role is ideal for someone with strong care experience who is confident leading shifts overnight and supporting the nursing team while ensuring residents receive safe, compassionate, and high-quality care. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining the wellbeing, dignity, and comfort of residents during night shifts while supporting care staff and ensuring high care standards are maintained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality personal care and support to residents in accordance with individual care plans.
  • Lead and support the night care team, ensuring safe staffing and good practice throughout the shift.
  • Work closely with and support the nursing team with resident care and monitoring.
  • Assist with medication where trained and authorised.
  • Monitor residents’ wellbeing and report any changes or concerns to nursing staff.
  • Support residents with mobility, continence care, and overnight routines.
  • Maintain accurate care records and documentation.
  • Ensure a safe, calm, and supportive environment throughout the night shift.
  • Assist with light domestic duties where required to support resident comfort.
Requirements
  • Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care (essential).
  • Previous experience working night shifts in a care setting.
  • Experience leading or supervising care staff.
  • Good understanding of care plans and person-centred care.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Reliable, organised, and able to respond calmly in sensitive situations.
  • Compassionate approach with a genuine commitment to high-quality care.
