As a Registered Children’s Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the care and welfare of children across a range of settings, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and development remain the highest priority. You will be joining a well-established children’s organisation dedicated to providing looked-after young people with a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment. Responsibilities
- Be responsible for the day-to-day operation/management of an Ofsted-regulated residential provision.
- Ensure the highest standards of emotional, social and physical care, promoting best outcomes for young people through research, development and partnership.
- Ensure strategic overview and vision of the organization are embedded in policies, procedures, and management strategies at the home.
- Deliver highly motivated leadership and development to the team for which you are responsible.
- Ensure training is relevant, robust, and effective; the training program is dynamic and responsive to the needs of current residents.
- Ensure staff adhere to training requirements and timescales.
- Develop high standards of communication with social work teams, the Virtual School, medical professionals and other key partners.
- Maximise resources within a planned timescale and ensure services are delivered to maximise participation of young people, respect their rights, and respond to their wishes and views.
- Take overall responsibility for all regulatory requirements associated with Ofsted registration and the home’s Statement of Purpose.
- Ensure safeguarding risks are acted upon immediately and appropriate actions taken to mitigate risk.
- Promote and ensure equality in practice.
- Undertake and participate in required training programmes.
- Develop and maintain effective working partnerships with external providers as an integral part of the care pathway for children.
- Challenge in a sensitive way to engender collaboration for educational achievement and attainment, fostering mutual responsibility for outcomes for all young people.
- Ensure that the educational needs of children in residence are assessed and provided for, liaising with educational professionals producing Personal Education Plans.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Experience of managing a children's home.
- Level 5 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Residential Care.
- Experience of working with children and young people.
- A dedication to providing outstanding care.
- Suitability to work with Children; DBS Certificate is a requirement of the role.
- Driving Licence (preferred).
- Level 3 in Residential Childcare (required).
