We are recruiting for an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to lead two small children’s homes supporting young people with Emotional & Behavioral Difficulties (EBD). The role prioritises trauma‑informed care, therapeutic practice and positive outcomes for young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Culture – Lead, motivate and inspire staff teams; create a positive, reflective and high‑performing culture; champion safeguarding, equality and inclusion.
- Compliance & Quality – Maintain compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards; ensure Ofsted readiness and strong inspection outcomes; oversee audits, action plans and continuous improvement.
- Safeguarding & Risk – Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead; manage complex risks and safeguarding concerns; promote safe practices and reduce incidents.
- Outcomes for Young People – Oversee care planning and therapeutic approaches; promote education, wellbeing and independence; ensure young people’s voices are heard and valued.
- Staffing & Development – Manage recruitment, rotas and staffing levels; deliver supervision, training and performance management; support staff development and qualifications.
- Operations & Finance – Manage budgets, occupancy levels and maintain high‑quality, homely environments; support service development and growth.
Qualifications
- Essential – 2–3 years’ management experience in residential childcare; previous experience as an Ofsted Registered Manager; Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (or working towards); strong knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations and safeguarding; proven track record of Good or Outstanding Ofsted outcomes.
- Desirable – Experience across multiple services or dual registration; knowledge of therapeutic models such as PACE, TCI, etc.; experience supporting complex or high‑risk placements.
