Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Homes

Location: Croydon

Salary: Up to £62,000 per annum

Established company providing high-quality, therapeutic residential care for children aged 6 to 17 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD). Our homes offer nurturing, trauma‑informed environments where young people feel safe, valued, and supported to reach their full potential.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic OFSTED Registered Manager or experienced deputy manager to oversee and open a new home we plan to register in Croydon. This role requires a confident leader who can inspire, manage, and motivate a dedicated team to deliver outstanding outcomes for children and young people. The ideal candidate will be ambitious, forward‑thinking, and eager to grow their career, seeing this role as a pathway to becoming a dual registered manager and the company’s Responsible Individual (RI) as our organisation expands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage one of the homes we plan to register (solo or 2‑bed) to deliver exceptional, child‑centred care.
  • Ensure full compliance with OFSTED regulations and all relevant childcare legislation.
  • Champion trauma‑informed and therapeutic practice across both homes.
  • Provide inspirational leadership, guidance, and mentoring to your team.
  • Develop and monitor care plans, ensuring individualised support for each young person.
  • Build effective relationships with local authorities, families, and partner agencies.
  • Drive continuous improvement to achieve and maintain “Good” or “Outstanding” OFSTED ratings.
  • Contribute strategically to the opening and development of new homes within the company.

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 3 years recent experience as a Registered Manager in a children’s residential setting.
  • Proven success in achieving “Good” or “Outstanding” OFSTED outcomes.
  • NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.
  • Strong understanding of EBD, trauma‑informed and therapeutic care models.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
  • Resilient, emotionally intelligent, and passionate about positive change.
  • Must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
  • Ambition to grow into a Dual Registered Manager and Responsible Individual role as the company expands.
