We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Outpatients Nurse to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on cosmetic surgery. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to providing exceptional patient care and demonstrate a thorough understanding of wound care. As a Nurse, you will play a vital role in assessing patient needs, implementing care plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standards of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend clinics as per rota supplied.
  • Assure the operational running of the clinic, including time keeping, etiquette, and process.
  • Ensure all key paperwork is completed for each clinic.
  • Coordinate the surgeon, doctor, and audiologist to ensure requirements are met.
  • Follow admission protocols to ensure only patients meeting criteria are safely selected for surgery.
  • Escalate concerns to medical practitioners immediately (in writing) and obtain responses for patient files.
  • Perform any pre-operative screening, testing, and paperwork as required.
  • Work flexibly, covering evenings and weekends as planned.
  • Learn and develop skills in pre- and post-operative wound care and theatre care practices.
  • Develop and become competent in venepuncture.
  • Audit compliance with all CQC regulated outcomes.
  • Adhere to national legislation (Health and Social Care Act, Health and Safety at Work Act) and take action where standards are not in place.
  • Participate in training and education programmes for staff of all levels when required.
  • Ensure that risk assessments are suitable and sufficient.
  • Lead by example and foster a clinical culture of best practice beyond national standards.
Skills & Experience
  • Fully conversant with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and national guidelines.
  • Take responsibility for personal/professional development and mandatory training.
  • Regularly assess and evaluate practice via audit and implement change collaboratively.
  • Maintain professional, contemporaneous records at all times.
  • Participate in personal development review.
  • Maintain high standards of personal behaviour and effective communication with team members, patients, and relatives.
  • Have union/insurance cover (e.g., RCN membership).
  • Train for and potentially assume Laser Protection Supervisor role.
  • Proven experience in nursing preferred (newly qualified nurses encouraged to apply).
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology essential for patient care.
  • Previous patient care experience advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Compassionate approach with empathy and understanding.
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse with current license.
  • Minimum 1–2 years experience in clinical/hospital setting (outpatient + inpatient preferred).
  • Excellent communication and multitasking abilities.
  • Flexibility to rotate between departments and adapt to patient needs.
