Responsibilities

  • Provide clear visible and professional advice to employees within the full Occupational Health remit, including consultation, advice, education, medical assessments, and D&A testing where appropriate.
  • Conduct case‐management appointments, assess employee fitness for work, and issue fitness certificates in line with Health Partners policies.
  • Write to GPs and specialists in line with the Access to Medical Reports Act and the Data Protection Act.
  • Respond to client and manager queries, maintain accurate records per NMC standards, and provide health surveillance in accordance with current legislation.
  • Manage site medical incidents, support the Occupational Health Nursing team through training and development, and contribute to a proactive Occupational Health Service.
  • Maintain NMC registration, design health promotion initiatives, foster effective communication with managers, manage equipment maintenance, and travel between client sites.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (Part 1) with a postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health (Degree/Diploma).
  • Excellent time‐management skills, meticulous written communication, and attention to detail.
  • Strong stakeholder communication, awareness of personal competence and escalation protocols for safe practice.
  • Confidence with IT and a comprehensive understanding of data protection and confidentiality in Occupational Health.
  • Experience delivering case‐management and providing Occupational Health advice.

Work Arrangement

The role is full‐time, 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours per day), with core hours between 8.00 am and 6.00 pm Monday to Friday. Flexible working arrangements may be discussed.
