Health Partners is looking for an Occupational Health Technician to deliver high-quality health surveillance services to clients in Stratford and surrounding areas. The role involves health assessments, surveillance, drug and alcohol testing, venepuncture, vaccinations (if trained), equipment and administrative management, and travel across the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake health surveillance and health promotion activities.
  • Prepare mobile vehicle including equipment, stocks and supplies.
  • Prepare paperwork, files and forms.
  • Maintain adequate stocks, supplies and calibration checks, PAT testing, and logistics logs.
  • Keep vehicles and equipment clean to a high standard.
  • Complete all required forms, databases and logs.
  • Maintain mileage and petrol usage records and expense reports.
  • Complete surveillance data and triage for escalation.
  • Maintain competence in use of equipment and testing.
  • Contribute to development of policies, procedures and safe systems of work.
  • Plan routes and liaise with Health Surveillance Manager regarding logistics.
  • Ensure adequate fuel in vehicles at all times.
  • Comply with Health Partners Data Protection policy.
  • Perform administration duties.
  • Identify improvements or enhancements to the service.
  • Participate in training and highlight further training needs.
  • Undertake drug and alcohol testing.
  • Perform venepuncture and process samples.
  • Administer vaccinations (trained nurses only).
  • Undertake office-based duties when not travelling.
  • Attend in-house Clinical Audit days and departmental meetings.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Sports Science or related field (full training provided).
  • Experience as an EMT or with a nursing background (transferable skills).
  • Full, clean UK driving licence.
  • General nursing qualification or evidence of OH technician training/experience preferred.
  • Flexibility to travel across the UK, including overnight stays.
  • Right to work in the UK and a DBS check.

Salary, Hours & Location

  • Salary: £26,325 per annum (exclusive of overtime, which can bring earnings up to £33,000).
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week, with core hours 7.5 hours per day. Overtime, shift work and overnight stays are possible.
  • Location: Peripatetic in Stratford and surrounding areas.
