Role Outline:

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Consultant Occupational Physician to take the helm as Chief Medical Officer of our Blue Light/Police Division - a rare and high-profile national leadership opportunity to shape occupational health strategy and delivery across UK police forces. Based in London, you will provide strategic clinical leadership and hands-on expertise across a UK-wide portfolio, partnering closely with force leadership, HR, and wellbeing teams to build resilient, healthy workforces. What you will be doing:

  • Provide expert clinical and strategic leadership across our Police Occupational Health services nationally
  • Act as Chief Medical Officer, offering authoritative advice to Police forces on workforce health, fitness for duty, and occupational risk
  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of clinical staff, including occupational physicians, nurses, and allied clinicians
  • Champion operational rehabilitation pathways for officers and staff affected by mental health conditions and musculoskeletal (MSK) injuries
  • Drive initiatives to build resilient, sustainable workforces within demanding operational policing environments
  • Ensure clinical governance, quality standards, and regulatory compliance across all services
  • Represent the organisation at a senior level with force leadership, commissioners, and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to policy development, clinical audit, and continuous improvement of occupational health provision

About you:

  • Accredited Specialist status in Occupational Medicine (GMC Specialist Register / Faculty of Occupational Medicine)
  • A strong track record of clinical leadership within Police or Blue Light occupational health services
  • Demonstrable experience managing and developing clinical teams
  • Deep expertise supporting operational rehabilitation, particularly for mental health and MSK conditions in high-demand, safety-critical roles
  • Proven ability to provide strategic, high-level advice to senior stakeholders on workforce resilience
  • Expert technical credibility combined with strong interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel across the UK to support forces nationally, based from our London hub

London, with UK-Wide travel

Salary:

We are offering a highly competitive salary and are happy to consider relocation costs.

Hours:

Full Time, 37.5 hours per week
