As an Occupational Health Physician, you will play a key role in supporting employers and employees by delivering high-quality occupational health services. This is a flexible hybrid role, combining face-to-face site visits with home-based case management to ensure a comprehensive and responsive service.
What you'll be doing:
- Undertake case management for a range of health issues, including fitness for work, workplace adjustments, and return-to-work planning.
- Deliver face-to-face consultations at client sites as required, ensuring a personalised and professional approach when on site.
- Conduct home-based telephone/video-based consultations, providing clarity of thought and support to the referring manager and patient.
- Provide clear, concise, and professional reports for employers, outlining medical opinions and recommendations.
- Liaise with employers, HR teams, and other healthcare professionals to support employee wellbeing and organisational health goals.
- Stay up to date with relevant legislation, clinical guidelines, and best practices in occupational health.
What we are looking for:
- A fully GMC-registered professional with full GMC registration and licence to practise with a qualification in Occupational Medicine (minimum DOccMed) and proven case management experience.
- The ideal candidate will have strong clinical experience in occupational health, including case management and fitness-for-work assessments, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with clients and stakeholders.
- A proactive and flexible approach, combined with strong organisational and time-management abilities, is essential.
- Familiarity with relevant workplace health legislation and guidelines (e.g., Equality Act, Health and Safety at Work Act) is required, as is IT literacy and the ability to prepare detailed and professional reports.
Hours: Part-time vacancy working between 22.5 and 37.5 hours a week.
Location: You will be required to visit our client sites in Birmingham and the surrounding areas 1–2 days a week and will be home-based for the remaining hours.
