The Head of Governance is responsible for creating, managing, and improving management systems to uphold best practice standards, mitigating and managing business risks, maintaining accreditations, and driving sustainability and CSR strategies. Acting as the Data Protection Officer, they ensure compliance with data protection regulations. Supported by a Governance Manager and a Governance Coordinator, the Head of Governance can focus on strategic oversight and leadership, while the team efficiently manages operational and administrative responsibilities to ensure the effective delivery of governance across the organisation.
What you'll be doing:
- Provide strategic leadership in developing and improving governance frameworks, participating in key boards, and collaborating with Clinical Governance teams to enhance protocols.
- Lead and manage a high-performing Governance team, fostering accountability, continuous improvement, and cross-departmental collaboration.
- Oversee organisational management systems, accreditations, certifications, and audits, including ISO standards and external assessments, while driving risk mitigation strategies and maintaining corporate risk registers.
- Ensure legal, regulatory, and compliance adherence, managing commercial contracts, legal registers, claims, and data protection duties as the Data Protection Officer, including privacy management and liaising with the ICO.
- Lead sustainability, CSR, and ESG strategies, producing emissions and impact reports, and managing compliance with environmental and social responsibilities.
- Support various departments, client assurance, tenders, and surveys to enhance performance, client experience, and employee satisfaction.
What we are looking for:
- Degree level education
- Experience in quality management and accreditations
- Trained auditor
- ESG/CSR and DPO experience
- Strong communication and relationship skills
- Ability to multitask and work to tight deadlines
This is a homebased role with travel to company sites when required. This is a full-time position, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We are offering a competitive salary based on skills and experience.
