We have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated Occupational Hygiene Technician to join our team based at Hinkley Point C, near Bridgwater in Somerset.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Perform Occupational Hygiene monitoring and surveys of personnel and site activities for chemical, physical and biological agents.
  • Participate in occupational hygiene investigations and studies.
  • Carry out regular workplace inspections to assess occupational hygiene aspects.
  • Assist with preparation and delivery of training and information materials on occupational hygiene topics.
  • Contribute to occupational hygiene performance reports.

What we are looking for:

  • A STEM related degree is essential.
  • Ideally an affiliate member of the Faculty of Occupational Hygiene (AFOH) and working towards the British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) Certificate of Operational Competence (CertOH); full training can be provided.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • IT competency and proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Teams.
  • At least three years’ work experience in industrial and/or construction environments (desirable).

Hours:

This is a full‑time position (37.5 hours per week), working 5 days per week Monday to Friday. The role involves shift work with the following patterns:

  • Day shifts: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm (7.5 hours) with a 30‑minute unpaid lunch break.
  • Back shifts: 4:00 pm – 12:00 am (7.5 hours) with a 30‑minute unpaid lunch break.
  • Night shifts: 7:00 pm – 5:00 am (approximately 9.5 hours) Monday to Thursday with a 38‑minute unpaid lunch break.

Enhanced pay will be provided for work outside standard hours.

Location: On‑site at Hinkley Point C, Somerset.

Salary: Competitive salary dependent on experience and qualifications.
