As a Laboratory Analyst within the Confirmation team, you will play a key role in the analysis and reporting of confirmation samples within a fast-paced and highly regulated laboratory environment. Working as part of a collaborative laboratory team, you will support the delivery of accurate, reliable and timely analytical results while maintaining high standards of quality, compliance and customer service.
You will be involved in a wide range of laboratory activities including sample preparation and processing, analytical testing, quality control, troubleshooting analytical systems and maintaining accurate laboratory records through the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). You will also support instrument maintenance, stock control and continuous improvement initiatives to help ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the laboratory while contributing to compliance with ISO 17025 and other quality management standards.

Key Responsibilities- Responsible for the efficient and effective analysis of confirmation samples.
- Competent in all areas of laboratory workflow.
- Maintain accurate record keeping including accurate update of the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and adherence with Quality Management System requirements around QC and instrument management.
- Carry out daily system checks and trend review, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance of analytical systems, ensuring completion in a timely manner with traceable.
- Review analytical results to customers, providing interpretation of results where required.
- Deliver appropriate internal and external Quality Control measures, taking corrective action as required and performing regular trend reviews.
- Accept certified reference materials, and prepare and verify calibrator and QC materials prior to use.
- Troubleshoot equipment and process failures, raise issues and ensure engineers are contacted as soon as possible when required.
- Monitor laboratory stock levels to ensure uninterrupted supply of required laboratory consumables, chemicals, reagents and in house standards.
- Ensure laboratory stock orders are maintained through approved suppliers and support the identification of suitable alternatives where required.
- Responsible for Laboratory housekeeping / cleanliness including glassware cleaning.
- Carry out maintenance and calibration checks on general laboratory equipment to ensure its correct and effective operation.
- Undergo personal development through training, and to participate in the appraisal process.
- Participate in Team Meetings and take an active interest in the functions of the laboratory.
- Work with the team to drive the laboratory forward through continuous improvement.
- Participate in internal / external audits.
- Support investigations into non-conforming work where required.
- In conjunction with the Company’s Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs Manager, ensure that all work is performed in accordance with ISO 17025, ISO 14001, ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 requirements in testing and quality control.
- Adhere to ISO 17025, ISO 14001, ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 requirements for all aspects of analytical testing and quality control.
- Adhere to company policies and the Health and Safety and business systems manuals.
- To ensure commitment to impartiality and confidentiality, integrity and accessibility of information.
- Adhering to all policy, procedure, regulatory, customer and standard requirements relating to quality, information security and environmental management systems.
- Send and package samples accordingly if sample needs to be referred to external laboratory.
- Escalate issues disrupting daily delivery to management.
- Degree in a suitable science subject and demonstration of sound attention to detail coupled with excellent practical skills is essential.
- Computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook) highly desirable.
- Experience of working in a regulated environment e.g. ISO 17025, GLP.
- Knowledge of Analytical Extraction Processes.
- Knowledge of Screening and Confirmation Analytical Technologies.
- ISO17025 Quality Management System Awareness.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week including some weekend working.
Location: Waltham Abbey, Essex.
We are offering a salary of £30,000 per annum.
