Health Now Complex Care is looking for experienced and compassionate Mental Health Support Workers to join our team supporting a client in Oxfordshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated support worker who has experience working with individuals with complex mental health and behavioural needs. The role involves providing consistent, person-centred support while promoting independence, stability and wellbeing.
Essential Experience
- Complex PTSD
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Challenging behaviours
- Complex mental health needs
- Emotional dysregulation and distress
- Behaviours that may present a risk to themselves or others
Experience of working within a person-centred, trauma-informed approach is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, person-centred support throughout long day shifts
- Support the individual with their emotional wellbeing and mental health needs
- Develop positive and trusting professional relationships
- Respond calmly and appropriately to challenging or distressed behaviour
- Follow individualised care plans, risk assessments and behavioural support strategies
- Identify changes in presentation and escalate concerns appropriately
- Encourage independence, choice and meaningful activities
- Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
- Complete accurate daily records and documentation
- Work closely with families, healthcare professionals and the wider care team
- Promote a safe, stable and supportive environment
