  • Research Intensive Care Services NelsonHospital
  • This role requires a minimum of 5 yearsrecent acute nursing experience, or significant ICU/CCU experience
  • Permanent 0.3FTE working 24 hours afortnight between the hours of 0700 and 1730 Monday to Friday
  • It is an organisational requirement towork a minimum of 0.7 FTE. If you are applying externally you will need towork 0.4FTE in another role additionally

About the Role

The role will involve data collectionfor Intensive Care (ANZICS) as well as coordinating clinical trials within thespeciality.

About the Team/Service/Location

The Nelson ICCU is a close and supportive team that works well togetherto provide the best outcomes for the patients and whānau that we care for. We have a nine bed unit that caters to ICU, CoronaryCare and High Dependency patients. The successful candidate will undertake theresearch role in this unit with potential to also provide care for all thesepatients. Each day brings something new with opportunities to learn and grow.Our team has regular social gatherings that make the most of living in thisbeautiful area of New Zealand and we welcome new members to the team.

About You

We are looking for an experienced nursewho has a passion for critical care and evidence-based practice, as well as akeen interest in clinical research. You will also have the flexibility toaccommodate the needs of patients undergoing clinical trials.

  • Ongoing commitment to professionaldevelopment in critical care nursing
  • Well-developed clinical skills in anacute care setting
  • Adaptability in a dynamic rapidlychanging work environment
  • Working collaboratively as a proactiveand supportive team member to achieve optimum health outcomes for patientsrequiring Intensive Care services
  • Willingness to share your professionalknowledge and skills within the Intensive Care team.
