About the Role
Right now, we’re looking for a Health Care Assistant with experience behind them to become part of the District Nursing team and provide services for those receiving care, based in their own home. Day to day this role assists and supports the Registered Nurses to provide care and support to patients in their own homes. Health care assistants work under the registered nurse direction and delegation, in addition to other 'housekeeping' tasks. You’ll enjoy the flexibility of a truly varied role where there is never a dull moment or a day that looks like another!
About you
- Ideally you will have directly relevant work experience, or have worked for a recognised healthcare provider and therefore you are able to bring this experience to the role.
- Previous clinical experience.
- Display genuine sensitivity (and cultural empathy) toward others maintaining unfailing confidentiality in all respects.
- Able to assist people with major health care needs and deliver safe quality care and client centred services.
- Present a friendly positive approach to colleagues, patients & visitors alike.
- Utilise well developed communication skills to enhance patient experiences.
- Uses initiative, (i.e. sees something requiring attention and simply does it).
- Full and clean New Zealand drivers licence is required for this role as you will be expected to travel throughout the South Canterbury district.
