Physiotherapist (Rehabilitation), Nelson Hospital, Fixedterm Full-time

  • Working across a mix of inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation settings, you'll support patients to maximise their independence, improve function, and achieve their rehabilitation goals.
  • This is a varied role which offers the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population, including neurological, orthopaedic, medical, and older persons' rehabilitation. You'll be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care.

About the Role

As a Physiotherapist you will:

  • Assess, plan and deliver evidence-based physiotherapy interventions;
  • Provide rehabilitation services across both inpatient and to a lesser extent outpatient clinic;
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including Occupational Therapists, Speech Language Therapists, Social Workers, Nurses and Medical Staff;
  • Support patients and their whānau through their recovery and rehabilitation journey;
  • Contribute to service development and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

This is a fixed term parental leave cover for up to 12 months, working 80 hours per fortnight (1.0 FTE), Monday to Friday. Hours will be between 6.00AM to 8.00PM.

About you

As a Physiotherapist, you will have:

  • Registration with the Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand and a current APC;
  • Previous physiotherapy experience, ideally within rehabilitation services;
  • Strong clinical reasoning and assessment skills;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • A commitment to providing patient-centred care and achieving positive outcomes;
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

The successful applicant must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid New Zealand work visa at the time of application.
