We are recruiting a general Neurologist to expand outpatient urgent neurology clinic access at Jim Pattison Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre (JPOCSC) and to provide additional on-call support to Surrey Memorial Hospital (SMH).
The successful applicant would join an existing group of 15 neurologists who run a consulting service at Surrey Memorial Hospital and attend subspecialty and general neurology clinics at the nearby Jim Pattison Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre. The applicant would be expected to take part in local and regional call activities as needed. This includes taking call at SMH and may include calls at nearby hospitals including but not limited to Peace Arch Hospital, Langley Memorial Hospital, and Delta Hospital.
With this opportunity, there are two funded urgent neurology clinic days at JPOCSC. There may be future urgent and general neurology clinic opportunities at nearby hospitals. In the meantime, the successful candidate would be expected to develop a community-based practice in Surrey, Delta, or Langley for their remaining clinic days. Established well-run group neurology practices are available to join.
A general neurologist is preferred; however, if the successful applicant has subspecialty training or EMG/EEG designations, there may be opportunities in the subspecialty clinics or the neurophysiology lab.
Candidates must be eligible for FRCPC registration in neurology and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC.
There are abundant opportunities in Surrey to participate in undergraduate and post-graduate medical education through the University of British Columbia. Simon Fraser University will soon be opening its medical school in Surrey if medical education is of particular interest to the successful applicant.
Interested candidates may submit a CV.
