Fraser Health is recruiting a general Neurologist to expand outpatient urgent neurology clinic access at the Jim Pattison Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre (JPOCSC) and to provide additional on‑call support to Surrey Memorial Hospital (SMH). The successful candidate will join an existing group of 15 neurologists who run a consulting service at SMH and attend subspecialty and general neurology clinics at JPOCSC. Call duties will include SMH and may extend to nearby hospitals such as Peace Arch Hospital, Langley Memorial Hospital and Delta Hospital. In addition to the two funded urgent neurology clinic days at JPOCSC, the role offers future urgent and general neurology clinic opportunities at nearby hospitals. The role also involves developing a community‑based practice in Surrey, Delta or Langley for remaining clinic days, with established neurology practices available for joining.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct general neurology clinic appointments at JPOCSC and SMH.
  • Participate in local and regional call activities as needed, including at SMH and other nearby hospitals.
  • Develop and manage a community‑based neurology practice in the Surrey, Delta or Langley area.
  • Provide subspecialty care (e.g., neurophysiology, EMG/EEG) if qualified and available opportunities arise.
  • Engage with undergraduate and postgraduate medical education programs at the University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University.

Qualifications

  • Eligibility for FRCPC registration in neurology.
  • Licence with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC.
  • Preferred: General neurologist; subspecialty training or EMG/EEG certification considered for subspecialty clinics or neurophysiology lab.
