Medical staff collaborate with allied health professionals, including mental health and substance use nurses, physical and occupational therapists, speech‑language pathologists, and respiratory therapists.
The Hospital: East Kootenay Regional Hospital is an 80‑bed regional referral centre with a 24/7 emergency department, a 16‑bed trauma unit, a 6‑bed ICU, and a mobile high‑acuity‑response team that stabilises and transfers rural patients. The hospital’s diagnostic and treatment capabilities include a level‑3 laboratory, new MRI, SPECT CT, and upcoming CT scanners. Construction is underway for a new NICU, renovated ER triage, and oncology and renal departments. Comprehensive inpatient care spans internal medicine, OB/GYN, surgery, orthopedics, ophthalmology, ENT, pathology, psychiatry, pediatrics, anesthesia, radiology, urology, and family practice.
Compensation: Compensation Type: Alternative Payment Arrangement. Estimated Remuneration: Physicians have the potential to maximize earnings based on the APP clinical service contract’s hourly rate of $231.27.
