Person Specification

Education/Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience in IT or a related discipline.

Desirable criteria

  • Relevant postgraduate qualification in statistical theory, data analysis or similar, or equivalent experience in a related discipline.

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Proficient in data manipulation, analysis and presentation of complex health activity data.
  • Experience of resolving complex problems and producing meaningful reports/outcomes from complex datasets.

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of developing dashboards, monitoring key indicators for health services.
  • Experience of Business intelligence reporting tools (e.g Power BI, Qlikview)

Skills and Knowledge

Essential criteria

  • Extensive working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft reporting products (including the ability to devise complex, interlinked and macro-driven models).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, working logically and with great attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of the most effective way to present information.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Able to interpret and communicate complex information.
  • Good understanding of Information Governance and the importance of high-quality data, confidentiality, and security.

Desirable criteria

  • Microsoft Power BI knowledge.
  • In-depth knowledge of NHS data definitions, data sets, and National data flows.
