Working as part of the Financial Management team within the Finance Department, you will provide a comprehensive, efficient, timely and professional management accounting service for the Corporate unit. The post holder will deputise for the Corporate Financial Business Partner. Working alongside the costing team to engage clinicians in Financial management using the service line reports and Patient level costing information ensuring that the expenditure of the Corporate unit is reported correctly each month.
Main duties of the job:
- Act as a key senior financial contact for the Corporate & research cost centres, with the support of the team to deliver day to day business and performance support to these areas.
- Discuss complex financial queries with suppliers, customers and other organisations which are often reasons for delayed payment and other sensitive issues.
- Provide advice to the corporate areas on complex financial issues and negotiate with external organisations over cost and provide a high quality analytical and planning service to the Corporate unit.
Person specification:
- Qualification: Studying towards a professional accountancy qualification (or similar degree level qualification).
- Experience: Management accounts background, supervisory experience, experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Knowledge and skills: Strong knowledge of accounting policies, procedures and principles, general computer ability - Microsoft office packages, good verbal and written communication skills.
- Other: Demonstrates commitment to the Trust's published values.
