An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the NWSSP Finance Team in the role of Management Accountant. Based in Nantgarw HQ with flexible working, the role will provide you with a wide range of experience in financial management across NWSSP. The role requires a hard-working, committed individual with financial experience and a good eye for detail who works well as part of a team working to strict deadlines. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job:
- This position provides comprehensive financial management advice, support and information to managers at all levels.
- The key elements of the post include the production of an accurate monthly financial position, annual and ad hoc costing work, and supporting the budget holders on all financial matters.

Person specification:
Other Essential criteria: Ability to travel when necessary.

Qualifications and/or Knowledge:
Essential criteria: Educated to CCAB part qualified (Professional accountancy diploma level) or equivalent experience. Evidence of continuing CPD. Specialist Knowledge and experience of financial and accounting procedures.
Desirable criteria: Fully CCAB qualified. Knowledge and experience of financial aspects of NHS legislation and NHS finance policies.
Experience:
Essential criteria: Experience of working within a Finance Department using financial systems. Experience of financial management and business and financial planning. Supervision of work processes and those of other junior staff.
Desirable criteria: Experience of using Oracle Financials and Qlikview.
Aptitude and Abilities:
Essential criteria: Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Analytical, interpretational and comparative skills. Ability to work autonomously and equally effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Demonstrable ability to work on multiple complex tasks simultaneously and produce high quality work within tight deadlines and within resource constraints. IT literate with practical computer application skills covering Microsoft products. Ability to work under pressure. Need for intense concentration over a sustained period of time. Ability to work flexibly to meet service needs. Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of professional staff and managers at all levels, both internal and external to the organisation.
Desirable criteria: Ability to use Microsoft Access and PowerPoint. Report writing using software. Advanced Excel skills.
