Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring that all invoices logged on to the Accounts Payable System have been matched to an official order.
- Ensure that all invoices eligible for recovery of VAT have been appropriately coded and the correct VAT code has been used.
- Maintain the Trust's system for authorisation of invoices in accordance with established procedures to ensure compliance with the Better Payment Practice Policy.
- Verify invoices returned after authorisation against the accounts payable system to identify input errors and ensure correct allocation to supplier accounts and expenditure codes.
- Accurately modify data to ensure invoices are selected for payment on planned payment runs.
- Propose changes to working practices to ensure ongoing compliance with the Better Payment Practice Policy.
- Liaise with the Procurement department regularly to resolve issues related to official orders.
- Respond promptly and efficiently to supplier queries, recording any required actions.
- Liaise with the Directorate to ensure unauthorised invoices not under query are authorised.
Qualifications
- AAT or equivalent (Intermediate Level).
Person Specification
Experience
- Previous Finance Experience including knowledge of VAT, petty cash, and reconciling control.
- Possess a high degree of numeracy and accuracy.
- Ability to work with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Access, and Word.
Knowledge
- Numerate.
- Ability to organise work and use initiative to complete tasks.
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with staff within the department, Trust, and other Trusts.
- Demonstrates a high level of commitment to personal and professional development.
