The financial management team seeks to achieve optimum value for money in all of the trust's services. It supports managers to understand the economy, efficiency and effectiveness of the resources within their control. The post holder will produce insightful financial analysis and be persuasive when dealing with conflicting priorities, ensuring financial opportunities and risks are quantified and understood by a variety of stakeholders.
The senior management accountant reports to the senior finance business partner and will build close relationships with service managers across the trust. They will identify, collate and analyse key information from operational and support services. The post holder's responsibilities include management accounts, budgets, forecasts, financial bids for new business, financial process improvement and year-end working papers. These outputs will help secure the trust's financial risk ratings and audit opinion. As a senior member of the team, the post holder will be expected to work independently and use their own initiative. Guidance will be available from the senior finance business partner. The post holder will be involved in financial matters relating to the whole Trust as required and contribute to continuous improvement of the team and Finance department procedures.
