Essential criteria
- Member of AAT or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
- Working towards a professional qualification (CCAB recognised body)
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working in a finance environment
- A proven track record of providing effective financial advice at a senior level
Desirable criteria
- Successful change management, planning and implementation
- Experience of presenting complex financial information to non-finance staff
- Experience of financial planning and forecasting within the NHS or comparable complex environment
Skills
Essential criteria
- Numerate with highly developed analytical ability to manipulate and interpret numerical data and other issues
- Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing
- Performance and project management skills
- Excellent organisational and time management skills and ability to work to deadlines under pressure
- Self-motivated, with energy and a proactive approach and positive about driving change
- Able to work with ambiguity and deal with a highly changing environment
- Credible and influential at all levels
- Work independently to a high standard without oversight
Desirable criteria
- Report writing skills in Business Intelligence
- Excellent negotiation skills
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Financial acumen including experience of effective capital / budget management and control
- Expert user of financial systems and use of Microsoft Office suite

- Knowledge of NHS Finance including the financial funding arrangements
