The predicted salary is between 37338 - 44962 £ per year.

To provide Clinical Audit support to the Clinical teams within the Trust, including writing audit reports, maintaining the audit database and reporting data to the Intensive Care National Audit and Research Centre.

Main duties of the job:

  • Analyse audit data when compiling reports and when more than one option is available.
  • Plan and organise straightforward tasks, some of which may be ongoing.
  • Develop links between clinicians and the Clinical Audit Department to encourage participation in Clinical Audit.
  • Facilitate the design of clinical audits and ensure audit standards are based on the latest evidence and locally agreed best practice, including collection, analysis, reporting and development of action plans.
  • Assist and advise clinicians and external agencies involved in National Audits and Confidential Enquiries or in the development of care pathways.
  • Be involved in education and training programmes, providing advice and assistance on clinical audit techniques.
  • Maintain complete confidentiality of all information received throughout the course of work.
  • Perform any other duties commensurate with the grade and agreed by the line manager.

Person Specification:

Education, Qualifications & Training:

  • GCSE (grade C or above) in English and Maths or equivalent.
  • Diploma or equivalent experience/qualification in audit, data analysis, health science or administration.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Experience of working with hospital IT systems including PAS, Pathology and Radiology systems or similar.
  • Recent, relevant, and significant experience in a clerical or secretarial role.
  • Experience of working with computer systems, including Microsoft Office, in a working environment.
  • Experience of setting up and maintaining systems.
  • Experience of working with staff at all levels.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Evidence of effective communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Knowledge of Clinical Audit.
  • Evidence of advanced keyboard skills.
  • Ability to respond quickly to changing priorities, and to organise and prioritise own and team workload to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision within broad procedural guidelines.
  • Ability to make decisions within defined boundaries.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to develop systems to promote efficient and effective working within the team.
  • Understanding of the meaning of confidentiality and the requirement for this to be maintained.
