The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.
Inputting a range of pay affecting data into the National ESR Payroll system. Undertaking calculations (PAYE, Ni, SMP, SSP etc). Working to strict deadlines ensuring accuracy and attention to detail are at the forefront of all tasks undertaken. Undertaking corrective action in ESR. Ensuring correct calculations and deductions are made in line with statutory deductions and correct entries are made in ESR. Understanding of NHS Pension alongside any alternative pension schemes applying auto enrollment duties and ensuring correct banding and deductions are made. Providing support to staff responding to queries in a timely manner. Supporting Payroll Team Leaders in the training of staff.
Qualifications and Education
- Essential criteria: Minimum of 5 GCSEs including Maths & English at Grades 9-4 (A*-C) or equivalent qualifications OR GCSE in Maths and English and experience of working in a Payroll or Pensions department.
- Desirable criteria: GCSE's in 5 other subjects 9-4 (A*-C) or equivalent CIPP - certificate in Payroll Administration or equivalent or experience of working in a Payroll environment.
Knowledge and Experience
- Essential criteria: Sound knowledge of pay procedures and statutory legislation and experience of working in a payroll department. Working knowledge of payroll screens and transfer facilities within the H.R. system. Experience of working in a large Payroll/Pensions environment. Comprehensive knowledge of computer input and the use of spreadsheets.
- Desirable criteria: Knowledge of NHS Terms and Conditions. Knowledge of ESR Payroll or Payroll Experience. Experience of ESR Oracle pay systems. Experience in local government. Experience and knowledge of Statutory pension legislation.
