The postholder will support the Clinical Audit & Effectiveness function in the Trust’s 10‑year strategy, focusing on quality improvement and clinical audit programmes. They will work closely with the Clinical Audit & Effectiveness Team and the Clinical Audit & Effectiveness Manager to ensure that an effective and robust Clinical Audit Programme is in place, leading to improvements in patient care.

Job responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and support on all aspects of clinical audit to teams across the organisation, ensuring audit activity is appropriately supported by the Clinical Audit & Effectiveness Team.
  • Support the Trust’s process for the implementation of NICE guidance.
  • Update and maintain audit databases, produce reports and advise staff on how to use audit findings for clinical improvement.

Person specification

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level in a subject containing a significant R&D, project management or data analysis element or equivalent experience.
  • Postgraduate diploma in QI/Clinical Audit or equivalent level of experience obtained in a QI/Clinical Audit role within the NHS.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Understanding and awareness of the NHS quality agenda, including excellent understanding and working knowledge of the Clinical Audit process.

Desirable knowledge

  • Awareness of governance framework, analysis and R&D methodologies.
