An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and driven Finance Business Partner to join the Diagnostic & Specialties division in a key leadership role. The successful candidate will work closely with the key clinical and operational leads within the division to drive the finance agenda, as well as managing the day‑to‑day activities of the divisional finance team. This role will provide you with an opportunity to support a division which has a wide variety of interesting specialties and to be part of a forward looking and innovative finance team.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be an experienced, proactive and highly motivated team player looking for their next career challenge within a dynamic and fast paced environment. You will need to demonstrate a positive mindset, personal resilience and the ability to problem solve and prioritise, whilst working to tight deadlines. Prior experience in managing and leading teams is essential. The role involves interacting with a wide stakeholder base across the Diagnostics & Specialties division, Finance team and others internal and external to the organisation. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The ideal candidate must be highly organised and be prepared to challenge existing processes and propose new solutions to current problems. You will be CCAB qualified with substantial post-qualification experience. Excellent Microsoft Office skills are also required.

Qualifications

  • Educated to masters degree level or equivalent level of experience
  • Member of CCAB or CIMA with significant post qualification experience
  • Evidence of continuing professional and personal development

Experience

  • Substantial post qualification experience
  • Experience of financial management within a large organisation
  • Experience of working at a senior managerial level
  • Experience of staff management and leadership

Desirable experience

  • Extensive experience of using computerised financial systems

Knowledge and skills

  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and experience of budgetary control systems and procedures
  • Ability to interpret financial information in conjunction with workload and other data and advise accordingly
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to financial and non-financial managers
  • A sound appreciation of accounting techniques, technical issues and costing methodologies
  • A good technical working knowledge of the NHS financial regime
