Overview
Responsibilities
- Oversee the timely and accurate processing and payment of invoices, resolving discrepancies, managing batches in Proactis, and ensuring compliance with Standing Financial Instructions and payment targets.
- Support the Accounts Payable Manager in leading the AP team - providing guidance, training, performance monitoring, and helping implement improvements, SOPs and best-practice processes.
- Manage key month-end duties, including accruals, statement reconciliations, supplier account management, VAT accuracy, and ensuring financial information is recorded correctly for period-end reporting.
- Handle supplier queries, legal correspondence, audit requests, FOI data, fraud-prevention activities and invoice write-offs, ensuring all actions are completed promptly and professionally.
- Maintain accurate supplier records, support system processes (including Pharmacy invoice loading), monitor workflow bottlenecks, and drive continuous improvement across the purchase-to-pay cycle.
- Ensure team inboxes and queries are managed effectively, provide financial procedure advice to staff, and support the implementation of policies, training, controls and departmental development initiatives.

- GCSE Maths and English and/or able to demonstrate equivalent training or experience
- NVQ Level 4/AAT Technical Level or equivalent experience
