We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic professional to join our Oxford Pharmacy Store Finance team in a newly created role to provide value-adding financial services. You will be driven, proactive and approachable, with the desire to add value to the team and the Trust as a whole. You will work alongside the Senior Accountant & Financial Accountant and wider team, covering the full suite of financial services responsibilities. You will be supported by the Senior Accountant in managing and building strong working relationships with the Oxford Pharmacy Store Finance team and in day-to-day accounts payable, receivable, credit control and customs processes.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Production of timely, accurate and reliable financial information in line with financial procedures and timetables through the completion of own work and liaison with others.
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of the OPS accounts payable, receivable, credit control & customs processes; ensure reviews are regular and corrective action is taken promptly.
  • Support the Senior Accountant in the production of Year End accounts, including liaison with internal and external auditors.

Person specification:

Qualifications

  • Essential: Accountancy Qualification (AAT or better)
  • Desirable: Part qualified ACCA / CIMA

Job Related Aptitude and Skills

  • Essential: Excellent communication skills including developed negotiation skills
  • Accurate attention to detail
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously with experience of delivering projects to completion

Knowledge and Experience

  • Essential: Knowledge of internal audit, audit systems and controls
  • Proven experience in the public sector, preferably the NHS
  • Working knowledge of accounting concepts, controls and methodologies
  • Advanced IT skills including detailed knowledge of Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Oracle

Desirable: Involvement in enhancements to processes and systems
