The Associate Director of Assurance will play a critical role ensuring that Croydon delivers on efficiency and transformational plans. Supporting the Director of Transformation, the post holder will work with the executive team, senior clinical and operational colleagues and corporate teams to ensure the effective implementation and monitoring of the Trust's efficiency and transformation projects and programmes to focus on clinical and operational excellence in a way that maximises the engagement of individuals and clinical teams across the Trust.

Main duties of the job:

  • Providing overall management and leadership on assurance of efficiency and transformation programmes and projects.
  • Promoting best practice in programme and project management and delivery, including researching best practice, publishing guides and enabling training opportunities across both organisations.
  • Overseeing the tracking of progress against plans and milestones for both efficiency and transformation projects, ensuring appropriate processes are in place to flag issues, risks and concerns with the relevant stakeholders.
  • Rigorously challenging non-delivery and slippage on projects through performance management principles ensuring there is accountability across the organisation.
  • Ensuring the development and implementation of qualitative and quantitative measures to determine performance against the priority programmes of work.
  • Reporting progress against the overall Efficiency and Transformation plans through personal representation at senior management forums and by written reports to appropriate boards and groups of staff.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities:

  • Promoting the efficiency and transformation programme and cultivating new ideas through engagement with local partners including Primary Care Networks/GP practices, secondary and community care clinicians, service managers and social care colleagues.
  • Maintaining oversight of efficiency programmes across partner organisations including South West London ICB, South London and the Maudsley, and Croydon Council.
  • Ensuring a smooth transition through decision making process to the planning and implementation of projects.
  • Participating in relevant internal and external working groups/projects, services and initiatives to provide project, information and analytical advice and expertise.
  • Developing and implementing programme and project monitoring processes that will provide accurate and timely data.
  • Presenting project information and issues, explaining complexities, to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Liaising with other Managers to share best practice.
