- Extensive experience, working at a senior level in a large complex organisation
- Experience of delivering challenging financial plans including large Cost Reduction Programmes
- Significant senior management experience
- Experience of planning and implementing long‑term strategy
- Significant experience of working with staff, their representatives and trade unions/professional organisations
- Knowledge and understanding of NHS policy and of key changes in the NHS (Desirable)

- Understanding of the political agenda for Health and Social Care
- Proven track record of successfully introducing service improvement or successful management of significant organisational change in a complex environment
