Health care engagements with Analysis Group involve identifying and framing valuable research questions, collaborating with leading academic experts, designing and implementing rigorous research, and disseminating research findings through conference presentations and peer-reviewed publications, as well as submissions to clinical regulators (e.g., U.S. Food and Drug Administration) and health technology appraisal (HTA) authorities around the world (e.g., National Institute for Health and Care Excellence in the UK). Our research also draws on the growing variety of health care data, including real-world data, electronic health records, registries, clinical trials, and insurance claims, as well as new data collection through medical record reviews, surveys and wearables. We strive to contribute to the development of innovative methodologies and new standards in statistics, machine learning, health economic modeling and data collection technologies. Our work helps define markets, demonstrate value, and inform critical business decisions for innovative health care products.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

Analysts will gain experience with development of databases and analytic files, programming, a range of data sources (including administrative claims data, clinical trial data, registries, and medical chart data), conducting economic evaluations, and drawing inferences from medical literature. Additionally, analysts will learn how to translate the findings from research into implications or recommendations for regulatory and business decisions. Responsibilities and work experiences may include :

  • Perform independent and directed economic and statistical analyses, using spreadsheets and statistical programming in R, SAS and other programs
  • Examine market and industry behavior through targeted research
  • Review and summarize reports and client documents
  • Participate in meetings with academic experts and case team members
  • Create visual or graphic presentation of findings from quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Independently develop computer programs (in software such as SAS, R, etc.)
  • Prepare reports and presentation materials

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in biostatistics, computer science, data science, economics, epidemiology, health economics, health policy, HTA, mathematics, public health, statistics, or related subjects with 0-3 years’ work experience
  • Proficiency in at least one statistical programming language (e.g. SAS, R, Stata, C++, Python) is a plus
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills
  • Experience or a strong interest in statistical programming, data analysis, and applying quantitative methods to real-world research problems in the life sciences industry
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • An excellent academic record
  • Effectively worked independently and within a team
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A desire to continuously learn and develop professionally
