Position: Temporary Full Time Licensed Practical Nurse Facility: SWVRJA Location: Abingdon, Duffield, Haysi, Tazewell Shift Available: Full-Time (36 weekly hours); Every Other Weekend SCHEDULE: 5:00 PM – 5:30 AM (36 Hours/ 3 x 12 Hour Shifts Per Week) Position Summary A Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for assisting in the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Under the supervision of Registered Nurses, directs and guides patient teaching activities commensurate with education and demonstrated competencies. Duties/Responsibilities Assist in assessing physical, psychological, and social dimensions of patients in the Healthcare and Housing Units. Help in planning and implementing individual treatment programs, consulting with registered nurses, physicians, and correctional officers. Implement clinical and technical care in accordance with policies and procedures. Administer medications and interventions as per physician instructions. Document nursing encounters, patient responses, and communicate with supervisory personnel and physicians. Utilize available resources for treatment and consultation. Respect patient dignity and confidentiality. Take vital signs, change dressings, and assist with activities of daily living. Maintain cleanliness and supplies of working and living areas. Serve as a team member, assist with orientation of new staff, and support physicians as assigned. Supervise inmates in maintaining environment sanitation. Perform other duties as required or assigned. Job Requirements Minimum qualifications include: Current Virginia Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License Current CPR certification Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing Preferred: One (1) year clinical experience Additional details: Travel: Minimal EOE/M/F/D/V #J-18808-Ljbffr
