Overview
The Programme Manager will have a key focus on supporting Programme wide data strategy and access for the Cancer Data Driven Detection (CD3) Programme, in addition to wider delivery support for HDRUK Programme delivery and integration.
Responsibilities
- Enable use of appropriate team communications and project management tools.
- Support development of reference communication materials such as standard presentation and communications decks.
- Be prepared and able to work flexibly to support colleagues as needed, adapting to an evolving environment and emerging priorities.
- The successful applicant will be involved and working with HDRUK's Strategy Team with various projects and tasks where a high level of planning and organisational skill is required.
- Supported by the Programme Director/CD3 CDO, the Programme Manager will be expected to use problem solving skills to respond to diverse demands on the team.
- The post-holder will make day-to-day operational decisions for their own workload, lead on making decisions to identify, initiate, and develop opportunities for streamlined and effective working across CD3 and HDRUK.
- They will work closely with, building and maintaining effective working relationships within HDRUK and our partner organisations. In particular they will work closely with the CD3 Executive team and Programme and workstream co-leads, HDRUK Programme Directors, HDRUK Programme teams, and UK wide data providers and TREs.
Experience
- Several years' experience of working in the health data ecosystem in the UK, with a good understanding of health data science research and infrastructure (e.g Trusted Research Environments).
- Good understanding of the UK NHS and of the regional and national data that arise from routine NHS activity.
- Several years' experience of managing large scale, UK-wide health data research and/or health data infrastructure programmes, with understanding of research and innovation delivery within the public sector, academia or industry.
- Good understanding of health data access information governance, security and privacy requirements, and the practicalities of provision of, access to and use of health data for research and innovation.
- Experience of understanding the needs of relevant audiences and presenting complex information to different audiences.
- Ability to manage complex multi-stakeholder projects in parallel with similar timeframes and conflicting priorities whilst meeting deadlines.
- Expertise in adjusting plans or strategies to break down long term strategies into component parts and set milestones.
