It also regulates the safe use and transport of chemicals and acts as Ireland's national accreditation body through INAB. About the roles Join the HSA's Chemicals and Industrial Products Division as an Inspector, enforcing chemical safety law in one of two areas: COMAH, Chemical Production and Storage or The Transport of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR). You'll work in multidisciplinary teams, carrying out inspections and investigations and helping keep workers and communities safe. What you'll do Carry out inspections of COMAH sites, chemical production and storage, or dangerous goods transport, including enforcement Assess safety reports, modification assessments and planning advice requests Investigate accidents and incidents, and prepare reports, including for legal proceedings Liaise with local authorities, fire services, the Gardaí and HSE on emergency planning Build expertise in process safety or dangerous goods transport Support policy work, awareness raising and Helpdesk queries Contribute to Competent Authority work at national and EU level The role may involve some EU travel and includes an out-of-hours on-call roster. What you'll need Essential: A Level 8 degree in engineering, science or another relevant qualification At least two years' relevant experience in a regulatory or industry setting A full Category B driving licence Desirable: a Process Safety qualification (COMAH), DGSA certification (ADR), a Health and Safety qualification, experience with technical reports, and familiarity with COMAH or ADR.
