Are you a hands-on finance professional who loves getting into the detail of how insurance operations and finance work together? Do you enjoy solving reconciliation puzzles, improving processes, and being at the heart of how money flows through an insurance business? If so, we’d love to hear from you.
We are a growing insurance business with ambitious plans. As our Insurance Finance Operations Analyst, you will play a vital role in connecting policy administration, brokers, insurers, and finance to ensure everything fits together accurately, efficiently, and transparently. This is an ideal role for someone who thrives in a small-business environment: owning processes, improving them, and becoming the go-to expert in how premiums, bordereaux data, cashflow and operational finance come together.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience in insurance finance operations, premium accounting, or similar finance-operations role
- Strong reconciliation skills — you love solving problems in the numbers
- Good understanding of the insurance premium lifecycle
- Comfortable working with data from multiple systems and spotting inconsistencies
- Proactive, hands-on and able to take ownership
- Excel/Sheets competent (intermediate level or above)
- Experience in a growing business or fast-changing environment is a bonus
- Part-qualified or studying for an accounting qualification (AAT/ACCA/CIMA) helpful but not required
Why join us?
- A rare chance to shape an entire finance-operations function as the business grows
- Close-knit, supportive team where your ideas genuinely matter
- Clear career path as the finance function expands
- Hybrid working options
- Competitive salary and benefits
- Opportunity to become a future team lead or specialist
If you’re driven, detail-oriented, and excited about becoming a core part of a high-growth insurance business, we’d love to hear from you.
About The Role:
What you’ll be doing:
- Premium Accounting & Reconciliation: Reconcile policy sales, premiums, fees and commissions between internal systems, MGAs, brokers and insurer statements. Perform regular cash allocation and premium matching. Resolve discrepancies through investigation and work closely with operational teams and partners. Maintain clean, accurate ledger balances and sub-ledger links.
- Finance Operations: Monitor the full premium lifecycle: quote → bind → bordereaux → cash collection → insurer settlement. Support the production of insurer reporting and settlement bordereaux. Track and forecast cash movements and operational finance metrics. Prepare and maintain MI relating to operational finance performance.
- Process & Systems: Identify control weaknesses and implement improvements. Work with operations and underwriting teams to ensure accurate data flows. Support integration projects between finance systems, policy platforms, and reporting tools. Help refine reconciliations, workflows and documentation as the company scales.
- Cross-Business Collaboration: Work closely with underwriting, sales, claims, and accounting functions. Provide insight and clarity around premium movements and financial impacts. Be a trusted point of contact for external partners (brokers, TPAs, MGAs, insurers).
Required Criteria:
- Experience in insurance finance operations, premium accounting, or similar finance-operations role
- Good understanding of the insurance premium lifecycle
- Proactive, hands-on and able to take ownership
Desired Criteria:
- Experience in a growing business or fast-changing environment is a bonus
- Part-qualified or studying for an accounting qualification (AAT/ACCA/CIMA) helpful but not required
