We are seeking experienced nurses to join our team in a dynamic, diverse and fulfilling role. This offers a chance to transition from a clinical setting to a UK office‑based position while continuing to apply nursing expertise supporting patients who value nurse advice. The role involves flight nursing outside committed office work.
Position Overview
The role is part of the Medical Assistance team, providing an efficient, cost‑effective, clinically supportive patient service to Healix clients. Management of new and ongoing emergency medical assistance, claims, and repatriation cases with coordinators and the wider organisation. Provision of non‑diagnostic medical advice to policyholders and Medical Helpline clients. Clinical input to the OH team in the medical assessment of individuals pre‑deployment. Escalation point for expert nursing knowledge for patient, client, team member or overseas clinician. Provision of emergency airline employee health services. Check equipment on return from repatriations and air ambulances and ensure sufficient supplies.

About You
- Registered General Nurse with a current NMC pin.
- Ideally 4 years recent acute care nursing experience, including several years in a critical care area or similar (ICU/A&E/HDU/CCU/acute surgical nursing).
- Prior experience in clinical case management is advantageous.
- Exceptional telephone etiquette and technical proficiency, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and databases.
- Broad travel health/cruise ship nursing experience, military nursing, public health/travel health nursing, humanitarian/NGO work possible.
- Demonstrates adeptness in identifying critical medical issues and escalating appropriately.
- Excel under pressure in fast‑paced environment with adaptability and empathy.
- Effective written and spoken English communication skills.
- Additional language proficiency is advantageous.
- Enjoys collaborative teamwork and professional business environment.
Required Criteria
- Hold a current NMC Pin and have a minimum of 3 years recent clinical experience at band 5 or above.
- Basic IT skills and excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work within a team and directly with clients.
- Ability to work independently to plan and manage caseload.
Desired Criteria
- Experience working within a government, military or overseas environment or medical insurance, assistance sector, or repatriation experience.
Working Hours & Flexibility
The role is full‑time, generally office based with occasional work from home. Shift patterns cover 8am to 10pm Monday to Friday, with additional flexibility for 24/7 global operations.
