- Drive standardised cloud patterns across environments to eliminate configuration drift
- Build reusable Terraform modules and environment structures in line with internal IaC best practices
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployments using GitHub
- Embed automated compliance checks, validation, linting, formatting, and IaC security scanning
- Enable automated provisioning, teardown, and promotion of cloud environments
- Operational cloud management
- Troubleshoot cloud issues across networking, identity, compute, storage, and service integrations
- Ensure patching, maintenance, cost optimisation, and performance tuning are applied consistently

- Ensure all infrastructure changes are auditable and follow change management processes
- Communicate clearly with stakeholders during incidents and operational issues
- Liaise with vendors and service providers to resolve service‑related issues
- Work closely with development teams to support releases into Production
- Project delivery
- Lead and deliver infrastructure‑focused projects, including upgrades, migrations, and platform deployments
- Work with third‑party vendors to ensure solutions are delivered successfully
- Produce clear documentation covering infrastructure designs, configurations, and operational procedures
- Security and compliance
- Implement security controls to safeguard infrastructure platforms and data
- Support audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate risk
- Work with the Risk team to meet Information Security and Privacy requirements and certifications
- Ensure alignment with organisational policies and industry best practice
- Continuous improvement & collaboration
- Review and continuously improve infrastructure systems, processes, and tooling
- Recommend and implement innovative solutions to improve reliability, performance, and efficiency
- Stay current with emerging technologies and cloud best practices
- Work collaboratively across IT teams to design and deliver cloud capabilities
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences
- Mentor engineers in cloud tooling, automation, IaC, and reusable patterns

- Infrastructure as Code & automation expertise – strong experience with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and repeatable environments
- Operational engineering capability – confident troubleshooting across networking, identity, compute, storage, and platform services
- Security‑first mindset – experience building and operating compliant, resilient, and well‑governed cloud infrastructure
Desired Criteria
- Containerisation & platform tooling exposure – Docker, Kubernetes, and modern deployment tooling
- Broad infrastructure background – experience modernising on‑prem environments to cloud‑native architectures
