A fantastic opportunity is available to join our busy Site Team, to become part of an iconic Cornish business, and to make your mark as Maintenance Manager.
Salary: £40,000 per year
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8:30am- 5pm
Duties & Responsibilities
- Have a focus on Health and Safety, setting the example to the rest of the team and adhering to accepted procedures to reduce unwanted events and accidents.
- Ensuring inspection and maintenance of vehicles, agricultural/industrial vehicles, reporting any damage or maintenance requirements to the Estates Manager.
- Deputise for the Estates Manager when they are away from the business
- Carry out regular building, masonry and carpentry maintenance at appropriate times for aesthetics and site safety ranging from painting to plumbing to plastering.
- Carrying out small building and maintenance projects as required across all company sites.
- Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests as required, prioritising other works as directed by the Estates Manager.
- Proactive maintenance of gates and fences, farm grounds and animal enclosures.
- Ensuring machinery and tools are maintained, cleaned, checked as appropriate, safe and ready for use at all times.
- All checklists, relevant paperwork, damage reports and electronic forms completed accurately and timely.
- Ensure the site is kept clean, safe and tidy.
- Security of workshop and all tools/equipment therein.
- Flexibility in duties to ensure best business practice across whole site.
- Working with the site team and assisting when required with animal care following company policies and procedures, and the safe movement of animals from one area of the farm to another.
- Assist the Orchard Controller when required in the Orchards.
- Any other activity/tasks as and when requested by the Directors.
Work Experience
- Site maintenance or building experience
- Proven experience of safe working practices
- Demonstratable experience in practical work and problem solving
Qualifications
- A valid UK Driving Licence
- Tractor Licence and Telehandler qualification
- Chainsaw Certificate
- Site Maintenance qualification or similar
Skills
- Ability to prioritise work as required
