About the Role
As a Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that young people experience a safe, positive, and nurturing living environment. You will lead and support the Residential Support Worker team to deliver exceptional care.
Your Key Responsibilities Include:
- Overseeing shifts to ensure the home operates safely and smoothly, adhering to safeguarding standards.
- Leading and supervising Residential Support Workers, promoting best practices and serving as a positive role model.
- Staying updated on policies, procedures, and legislation, guiding staff in their application.
- Building strong, professional relationships with multi-agency partners, families, and the community.
- Supporting care planning, young people's reviews, and tracking progress against individual plans.
- Encouraging young people to engage in decision-making within the home and community.
- Promoting equality and anti-discriminatory practices while upholding Health & Safety and data protection standards.
- Participating in required training and supporting QCF learners as needed.
Essential Skills
- A good standard of education, working towards (or holding) a Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of childcare legislation, Children's Home Regulations, and quality standards.
- Experience in supporting young people with challenging behaviours.
- Confidence in report writing, numeracy, general administration, and IT skills.
- Able to build positive, empathetic relationships with young people, committed to achieving the best outcomes.
- Motivational and supportive leadership style, with the ability to supervise and develop staff.
- Knowledge of national and local safeguarding procedures and protocols.
